75 – Muhammad related to me; ʿAbd Allah ibn Muhammad related to us; Muʿadh ibn Ziyad related to us. He said: I heard ʿAbd al-Wahid, more than once, say ⦗53⦘, “It would not please me to own everything Basra contains—its wealth and its fruit—for two copper coins.”
٧٥ - حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الْوَاحِدِ غَيْرَ مَرَّةٍ يَقُولُ ⦗٥٣⦘: «مَا يَسُرُّنِي أَنَّ لِي جَمِيعَ مَا حَوَتِ الْبَصْرَةُ، مِنَ الْأَمْوَالِ وَالثَّمَرَةِ بِفِلْسَيْنِ»
