59 – He went on to say: Mahmud al-Warraq then recited to me:

A man is held in pawn to “soon” and “if only,”
and his ruin lies in every “soon” and “if only.”
By Allah, how fine the youth who ponders his affairs,
rising and retiring in haste lest the chance slip away.
