Al-MutamanninIbn Abi al-Dunya

52 – Ahmad ibn ʿImran al-Akhnasi related to us; al-Muharibi related to us; Malik ibn Mighwal, from Abu Ishaq, who said: I heard Abu Maysarah say, “If only my mother had never given birth to me.” His wife used to say to him, “Abu Maysarah, has Allah not been gracious to you? He guided you to Islam and taught you the Quran!” He would reply, “Indeed; but we have been told that we shall come to the Fire, and we have not been told that we shall emerge from it.”
