44 – Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr ibn al-Ḥakam narrated to us; Fahd ibn ʿAwf Abū Rabīʿah al-ʿĀmirī narrated to us; and al-Mubārak ibn Faḍālah narrated to us:
Al-Ḥajjāj ibn Yūsuf once ascended the pulpit and said, “To proceed: Allah has spared us the burden of this world and has commanded us to seek the Hereafter. How I wish He had spared us the burden of the Hereafter and commanded us to seek this world instead!”
Al-Ḥasan remarked, “A believer’s lost property is now with a sinner—so let us take it back.”
