35 – Al-Mufaḍḍal ibn Ghassān narrated to us; a shaykh from the emancipated clients of Quraysh narrated to me. He said: Yazīd al-Raqāshī used to say, “Would that we had never been created; and would that, should we be called to account, we were not punished; and would that, if we are punished, we were not condemned to remain in it forever.”
