“My father was martyred on the day of Uḥud, and I was overcome with deep concern for him. The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—said, ‘Shall I not give you glad tidings? Your father has been presented before his Lord with no veil between them. Allah said to him, “Ask of Me whatever you wish.” He replied, “My Lord, return me to the world so that I may be killed again for Your sake and for the sake of Your Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him.” Allah said, “My decree has already gone forth: they shall not return to it.”’”
