16 – My father related to us; Abu al-Nadr related to us; from Muhammad ibn Muslim; from ʿAmr ibn Dinar. He said: ʿUmar ibn al-Khattab—may Allah brighten his face—said when death came to him, “If the whole world and everything it contains were mine, I would ransom myself with it from the Fire, even though I have never seen it.”
