150 – ʿAli ibn al-Jaʿd narrated to us; Mubarak ibn Fadala narrated to us; from Humayd ibn Hilal, from ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Samit, that Abu Dharr said ⦗88⦘:
“It will soon happen, my nephew, that you will see a funeral cortege carried past some people, and someone will say, ‘If only I were upon your bier!’ He will be told, ‘You do not know what he has faced.’ He will answer, ‘Precisely because of what he has faced.’”
I said, “Is that because of a tremendous ordeal?” He replied, “Yes, my nephew—tremendous, tremendous, tremendous.”
