136 – Ishaq ibn Isma‘il narrated to us; Jarir narrated to us, from Mansur, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit, from Yahya ibn Ja‘dah, who said:
ʿUmar said, “If not for three things, I would have wished that I had already died ⦗81⦘: were it not that I press my forehead to the ground for Allah in prostration, or sit with people who pick out the finest words as one selects the choicest ripe and unripe dates, or set out upon Allah’s path—were it not for these three, I would have wished that I had already died.”
