14 – Muhammad ibn Idris related to me; Asbagh ibn al-Faraj related to us; Ibn Wahb related to me, from Malik ibn Anas, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from his father: When ʿUmar was stabbed he said, “If everything upon which the sun rises were mine, I would offer it as a ransom against the anguish of a single hour—meaning the agony of death—so what of the time when I have not yet even faced the Fire?”
