124 – ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn Salih narrated to us; ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad al-Muharibi narrated to us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak, who said:
Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, once saw a bird perched on a tree and said, “By Him in whose hand is my soul, I wish I were a tree standing by the roadside: a camel would come by, take me in its mouth, chew me, and then spit me out—so that I would neither be resurrected nor called to account.”
