116 – Ibrahim ibn ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Hisham ibn ʿAmmar narrated to us; ʿAmr ibn Waqid narrated to us; Yunus ibn Ḥalbas narrated to us, from Abu Idris, from Muʿadh, who said:
Abu Bakr once entered an orchard and noticed a dubsiyy pigeon (a kind of wild pigeon) resting in the shade of a tree. He heaved a deep sigh and then said, “How fortunate you are, little bird! You eat from the fruit, seek shade beneath the tree, and will pass on without any reckoning. If only Abu Bakr could be like you.”
