46 – Muhammad ibn al-Husayn narrated to us; Muhammad ibn Jaʿfar al-Madini narrated to us; Bakr ibn Khunays transmitted, from Layth, from Abu Salman, who said:
Kaʿb declared, “If the son of Adam were never afflicted so that his life stretched on only in circumstances he desired, it would still be only a matter of time before a day came upon him in which he met what he detests. That is because the son of Adam hates death, yet he cannot escape it.”
