42 – He also said: Dawud ibn Rushayd maintained, “Baqiyyah narrated to us, from ‘Uqbah ibn Abī Ḥakīm, who said:

‘We used to sit with ‘Awn ibn ‘Abd Allah, and he would say to us, “Young men, we have seen the young die; so what is the harvest waiting for once the sickle has reached it?”’

And as he said this, he would run his hand over his beard.
