41 – Ibrāhīm ibn al-ʿAlāʾ al-Himṣī narrated to me; he said: “Baqiyyah related to us, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Sahl, from Abū Ḥāzim, who said:

‘My dear son, do not take as your model someone who has no fear of Allah when out of sight, who does not refrain from blameworthy conduct, and who fails to set himself right once the grey hairs of old age appear.’”
