38 – Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn narrated to me; Sulaymān Abū Ayyūb al-Baṣrī narrated to us, saying: Murajjaʾ ibn Wadaʿ related to me that ʿAṭāʾ al-Sulaymī said, “Blessed is the one whose lifetime brings him benefit and whose long years add to his righteous deeds. By Allah, I do not consider ʿAṭāʾ to be such a person,” and then he wept.
