685 — Alī ibn Ibrāhīm al-Yashkurī narrated to me: Ya‘qūb ibn Muhammad al-Zuhrī narrated to us: al-Mughīra ibn ‘Abd al-Rahmān narrated to us, from ‘Umar ibn Hafs, from Rabī‘a ibn ‘Atā, who said: In the presence of al-Qāsim ibn Muhammad, I said, “May Allah destroy Muhammad ibn Yūsuf! How audacious he is toward Allah!” He replied, “He is too abject and base to dare defy Allah. Rather, it is delusion—delusion. Say: ‘How greatly deluded he is concerning Allah!’”
