664 — Muhammad ibn Hātim narrated to us: Yahyā ibn Ishāq narrated to us, on the authority of Sukayn ibn ‘Abd al-‘Azīz, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Ibn ‘Abbās, on the authority of al-Fadl ibn ‘Abbās, may Allah be pleased with them, that he was riding behind the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on the afternoon of ‘Arafah. The young man kept glancing at the women, so the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, signaled to him with his gaze and diverted him from looking. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, then said: “Son of my brother, this is a day on which whoever guards his hearing, sight, and tongue from everything except what is right will be forgiven.”
