632 — Hamza ibn al-Abbas related to me: Abdān informed us: Abd Allah informed us: Sufyān informed us, on the authority of al-A‘mash, from Abu al-Duhā, from Masrūq—may Allah be pleased with him—that he was asked about a line of poetry but disliked reciting it. When asked why, he replied, “I dislike the thought of poetry being found in my record of deeds.”
