619 – Ibrāhīm ibn Sa'īd al-Jawharī related to me: Ibrāhīm ibn Mūsā related to me: Hishām ibn Yūsuf informed us, from Ibrāhīm ibn Muhammad ibn Firās, from Wahb ibn Munabbih, may Allah have mercy on him, who said: “The physicians unanimously agree that dietary restraint is the foundation of medicine, and the sages unanimously agree that silence is the foundation of wisdom.”
٦١٩ - حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ فِرَاسٍ، عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ، ﵀ قَالَ: «أَجْمَعَتِ الْأَطِبَّاءُ أَنَّ رَأْسَ الطِّبِّ الْحَمْيَةُ، وَأَجْمَعَتِ الْحُكَمَاءُ أَنَّ رَأْسَ الْحِكْمَةِ الصَّمْتُ»
