612 – Ubayd Allah ibn Muhammad related to me, saying: Bishr ibn al-Hārith—may Allah have mercy on him—said: “Allah, glorious and majestic, said to Adam—peace be upon him: ‘O Adam, I have placed a cover over your mouth; whenever you intend to say something improper, close it. I have also placed covers over your eyes; whenever you see something improper, close them. And I have concealed your private parts with a covering, so do not uncover them except when it is lawful for you.’”
