596 — ʿAlī ibn al-Jaʿd narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Yazīd narrated to us, from al-ʿAwwām ibn Hawshab, from Ibrāhīm al-Taymī—may Allah be pleased with him—who said: The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said, “You slaughter a man by praising him to his face.”
