587 — Ibrāhīm also related to me; Mūsā related to us; Mukhallad related to us, saying: “There was once a man among the Children of Israel who seldom spoke. Their king summoned and questioned him, but the man did not speak to him. The king then sent him out hunting with his men, saying, ‘Perhaps he will see something and speak.’ They took him with them and spotted some game, which cried out. They released a hunting hawk after it, and it caught it. The man then said, ‘Silence is good for everything—even for birds.’”
