581 — Ibrāhīm ibn Saʿīd related to me; Mūsā ibn Ayyūb related to us; Damra related to us, on the authority of Ibn Shawdhab, who said: A man came to ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz (may Allah be pleased with him) and began complaining to him about a man who had wronged him and speaking ill of him. ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him, “It is better for you to meet Allah with your claim for the wrong done to you still intact than to meet Him after having diminished it.”
