5 — Yūnus ibn Abd al-Rahīm al-Asqalānī narrated to us, saying: Amr ibn Abī Salamah narrated to us, from Sadaqah ibn Abdullāh, from Abdullāh ibn Alī, from Sulaymān ibn Habīb, who said: Aswad ibn Asram al-Muhāribī—may Allah be pleased with him—narrated to me, saying: I said, “Advise me, O Messenger of Allah.” He asked, “Can you control your hand?” I replied, “What can I control if I cannot control my hand?” He asked, “Can you control your tongue?” I replied, “What can I control if I cannot control my tongue?” He said, “Then extend your hand only toward what is good, and say with your tongue only what is right.”
