554 — Al-Husayn ibn al-Sakan ibn Abī al-Sakan al-Qurashī related to me: al-Muʿallā ibn Asad al-ʿAmmī related to us: Sayyār ibn al-Hakam related to us; he said: Thābit al-Bunānī related to us from Anas ibn Mālik—may Allah be pleased with him—who said: The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said, “Abū Dharr, shall I direct you to two qualities that are lighter on the back and heavier in the Scale than all others?” He replied, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.” He said, “Adhere to good character and prolonged silence. By Him in whose hand is Muhammad’s soul, no created beings have ever performed deeds comparable to these two.”
