Al-Samt wa-Adab al-LisanIbn Abi al-Dunya

57 — ʿAlī ibn Abī Maryam narrated to us, from Ahmad ibn Ishāq al-Hadramī, saying: Jaʿfar al-Kharrāz narrated to us, saying: I heard Muhammad ibn Wāsiʿ say to Mālik ibn Dīnār, “Abū Yahyā, guarding one’s tongue is harder for people than guarding dinars and dirhams.”
