549 — Abū Sālih also related to me, saying: I heard Rāfi ibn Ashras say, “It used to be said: ‘One punishment of a liar is that he is not believed even when he tells the truth.’ He added, ‘And I say: One punishment of the sinful innovator is that his good qualities are not mentioned.’”
