519 — Ahmad ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us: Abū al-Nadr narrated to us: al-Layth ibn Saʿd narrated to us, from ʿUqayl, from Ibn Shihāb, from Abū Hurayrah—may Allah be pleased with him—that the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said: “Whoever says to his child, ‘Here, I will give you something,’ but then gives him nothing, has a lie recorded against him.”
