51 — Alī ibn Abī Maryam narrated to me, from Zayd ibn al-Hubāb: Muhammad ibn Hawshab narrated to us and said: I heard Abū Imrān al-Jawnī say, “The tongue of each of you is but a dog: if he unleashes it against himself, it will devour him.”
٥١ - حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْحُبَابِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيَّ يَقُولُ: «إِنَّمَا لِسَانُ أَحَدِكُمْ كَلْبٌ، فَإِذَا سَلَّطَهُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ أَكَلَهُ»
