495 — Muhammad ibn Amr ibn al-Abbās al-Bāhilī narrated to us: Sufyān narrated to us, saying: Mutarrif ibn Tarif said, “I would not wish to have lied, even if the world and everything in it were mine.” Sufyān said, “Its meaning is: I would not wish to have exposed myself to Allah’s wrath and then not know whether He would accept my repentance or not.”
