486 — Al-Husayn ibn Alī ibn Yazīd narrated to me: Abū Marwān al-Bazzāz narrated to us. He said: “Sālim came to us seeking a seven-cubit length of cloth. I spread out for him a piece sold as seven cubits. He measured it and found it was less than seven cubits. He said, ‘Did I not ask for seven cubits?’ I replied, ‘That is what we call it.’ He said, ‘That is how lying comes about.’”
