480 — Yahyā ibn Ayyūb narrated to me: Ismāʿīl ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us: Suhayl informed me, from his father, from Abū Hurayra—may Allah be pleased with him—that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The signs of a hypocrite are three: when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he is entrusted with something, he betrays that trust.”
