461 — Ahmad ibn Ibrāhīm also narrated to us: Mubashshir ibn Ismāʿīl al-Halabī narrated to us: Furāt ibn Salmān narrated to me, saying: “It used to be said: When you are asked for something, do not make a promise. Instead say, ‘Consider what you are saying: if anything is decreed, it will come to pass.’”
