457 — Ahmad ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Sinān al-Awqī narrated to us: Ibrāhīm ibn Tahmān narrated to us, from Budayl ibn Maysara, from Abd al-Karīm ibn Abd Allah ibn Shaqīq, from his father, from Abd Allah ibn Abī al-Hamsā—may Allah be pleased with him—who said:

“I entered into a sale with the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—before he was commissioned as a prophet, and an outstanding balance remained due to him. I promised to bring it to him at that same place, but I forgot, both that day and the next. I came to him on the third day and found him still there. He said, ‘Young man, you have caused me considerable hardship. I have been here waiting for you for three days.’”
