47 — Al-Haytham ibn Khārija narrated to us: Sahl ibn Hāshim narrated to us, from al-Awzāī, who said, “Solomon, son of David—may Allah bless them both and grant them peace—said: ‘If speech is silver, silence is gold.’”
٤٧ - حَدَّثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ، عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ، قَالَ: " قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمَا وَسَلَّمَ: إِنْ كَانَ الْكَلَامُ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ، فَالصَّمْتُ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ "
