421 — Ibn Abī Maryam narrated to me, from Uthmān ibn Zufar: Muhammad ibn Abd al-Azīz al-Taymī narrated to us. He said: Al-Hasan related that Ibrāhīm al-Taymī—may Allah have mercy on him—said:
“When the believer wishes to speak, he first considers: if his words will count in his favor, he speaks; but if they will count against him, he refrains. The wicked man’s tongue, however, simply runs on and on.”
