Al-Samt wa-Adab al-LisanIbn Abi al-Dunya

417 — Muhammad ibn Qudāma narrated to me: Abū Hafs al-Dimashqī narrated to me, from Sadaqa ibn Abd Rabbihi, who said: “When Adam grew old, his descendants began to make sport of him. He would say, ‘My children, I have seen what you have not seen and heard what you have not heard. I saw Paradise and heard the words of my Lord. When He brought me out of it, I was told: If you guard your tongue, I shall return you to it.’”
