410 — Ahmad ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us: Abd al-Samad narrated to us: Hammām narrated to us, from Qatāda, from al-Hasan, from Abū Bakra, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “None of you should ever say, ‘I stood in prayer throughout the whole of Ramadan.’” Qatāda said: “Allah knows best whether he feared self-praise for his community, or whether some sleep or lapse is unavoidable.”
