381 — Al-Hasan ibn Abd al-Azīz al-Jarawī narrated to me: Yahyā ibn Hassān narrated to us: al-Walīd ibn Rabāh narrated to us: I heard Nimrān relate, from Umm al-Dardāʾ (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: I heard Abū al-Dardāʾ (may Allah be pleased with him) say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When a servant curses something, the curse ascends to heaven, but the gates of heaven are shut against it. It then descends to the earth, but its gates are shut against it. It then turns right and left; if it finds no passage, it returns to the one who was cursed, if he deserves it. Otherwise, it returns to the one who uttered it.”
