379 — Dāwūd ibn Amr narrated to us: Abbād ibn al-Awwām narrated to us: Husayn informed us, saying: I heard Mujāhid say, “Rarely do people mention Satan without his appearing among them. When he hears someone curse him, he says, ‘You have indeed cursed one who deserves to be cursed.’ Yet nothing is more crushing to him than the words: ‘There is no god but Allah.’”
