372 — Abd al-Rahmān ibn Sālih narrated to us: al-Muhāribī narrated to us, from al-Alā ibn ⦗204⦘ al-Musayyib, from al-Fudayl ibn Amr, who reported that a man cursed something. Ibn Masūd—may Allah be pleased with him—then came out of the house and said, “Whenever something is cursed, the curse circles about. If it finds a passage, it is told, ‘Pass through it.’ But if it finds no passage, it is told, ‘Return whence you came.’ I feared that it might return while I was inside the house.”
