362 — Hāshim ibn al-Walīd narrated to us: al-Nadr ibn Shumayl narrated to us, from ‘Awf, from Muhammad ibn Sīrīn, from Abū Hurayra—may Allah be pleased with him—who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Let none of you say, ‘My male slave’ or ‘my female slave.’ Rather, let him say, ‘My young man’ and ‘my young woman.’ Nor should a bondservant say, ‘My lord’ or ‘my lady,’ but rather, ‘My master’ and ‘my mistress.’ You are all but servants, and the Lord is Allah.”
