Suwayd ibn Saīd related to us: Fudayl ibn Iyād related to us, from Mansūr, from Ibn Shihāb, from Urwa, from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: “I never saw the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) seek redress for a personal wrong done to him, unless one of Allah’s sacred limits had been violated. If one of Allah’s sacred limits was violated, however, no one became angrier over it than he did. Whenever he was given a choice between two matters, he invariably chose the easier of the two, provided it was not sinful.”
