316 — Muhammad ibn al-Husayn narrated to me: Muslim ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us: Hammād ibn Salama narrated to us, from Humayd al-Tawīl, who said: Ibn Umar—may Allah be pleased with them both—said: “Righteousness is a simple matter: a cheerful countenance and gentle speech.”
