314 — Muhammad ibn Mas‘ūd narrated to us: Al-Firyābī informed us: Sufyān informed us, from ⦗180⦘ al-A‘mash, from ‘Amr ibn Murra, from Khaythama, from ‘Adī ibn Hātim—may Allah be pleased with him—who said: The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—said: “Shield yourselves from the Fire, even if only by giving half a date. If you do not have even half a date, then by saying a good word.”
