309 — Khalaf ibn Hishām narrated to us: Sharīk narrated to us, from Abū Sinān, who said: I asked Saīd ibn Jubayr, may Allah be pleased with him, “A Magian shows me goodwill and greets me. Should I return his greeting?” Saīd replied: “I asked Ibn Abbās, may Allah be pleased with them both, about something similar, and he said, ‘Even if Pharaoh spoke kindly to me, I would reply to him.’”
