300 — Abu al-Hasan al-Raqqī, Ali ibn Abd Allah, narrated to me: Abd Allah ibn Yusuf narrated to us: Abd Allah ibn Abd al-Rahmān ibn Yazīd ibn Jābir narrated to us: My father narrated to me, from al-Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him), that he used to say, “Beware of backbiting! By Him in whose hand is my soul, it consumes good deeds more swiftly than fire consumes firewood.”
