295 — Muhammad ibn Uthmān al-Uqaylī narrated to me: Ibn Awn—the keeper of the water-skins—narrated to us, from Mālik ibn Dīnār (may Allah have mercy on him), who said: “Jesus (peace be upon him) and the disciples passed by the carcass of a dog. The disciples said, ‘How foul its odor is!’ Jesus (peace be upon him) replied, ‘How brilliantly white its teeth are!’ He said this to admonish them and forbid them from backbiting.”
