290 — Muhammad ibn Imrān ibn Abī Laylā narrated to us: Bishr ibn Umāra narrated to us, from Abū Rawq, from al-Dahhāk, from Ibn Abbās—may Allah be pleased with them both—regarding the words of Allah, Exalted and Majestic: “Woe to us! What is with this record that it leaves no deed, small or great, without recording it?” [al-Kahf: 49] He said, “The small deed is smiling in mockery of a believer, and the great deed is laughing loudly in mockery of him.”
